Psychiatry that actually takes the time.
Board-certified psychiatric care for adults and adolescents across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut — considered, evidence-based, never rushed.
Board-certified psychiatric care for adults and adolescents across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut — considered, evidence-based, never rushed.
My background spans psychiatric emergency and crisis care — including the Children's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CCPEP) at Bellevue — along with outpatient mental health, some of the most complex psychiatric environments in the country. The work shaped how I show up now: meeting patients without judgment, building care around trust, dignity, and genuine connection.
I founded CEA Psychiatry because I believe effective care begins with asking "What do you need?" — listening first, then acting. My first visits run up to a full hour, and every follow-up is built around steady, careful adjustments — not a rushed refill. Whether you're here for medication management, a full psychiatric evaluation, or pre-surgical clearance, my promise is the same: thoughtful, evidence-based care grounded in a non-judgmental, trauma-informed lens.
“Healing involves the whole person, not just symptoms. I bring that philosophy to every appointment.”
This is a fully virtual practice for now — with plans to offer in-person care as it grows. From anywhere in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut, you can see me from your own space — at a time that fits your week. No waiting rooms. No travel. No paperwork before you've even sat down.
Whether you're seeking help for the first time or simply looking for a provider who will truly listen, I welcome you. My commitment is to care that is compassionate, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive — always tailored to you. You'll leave feeling heard, not just assessed.
Adaoma Ejimbe is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) whose background spans psychiatric emergency and crisis care — including the Children's Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program at Bellevue Hospital, one of the country's most demanding environments for pediatric and adolescent mental health — along with outpatient care. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatric Mental Health and is currently completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) at Gannon University.
Her practice centers on comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and individualized treatment planning for adults and adolescents across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut — all through secure virtual visits.
Each service is designed around giving patients the time and attention they need. No assembly-line psychiatry. No rushed appointments. Just careful, evidence-based care.
Thoughtful, individualized psychiatric medication management for adults and adolescents. Treating anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, and related conditions with steady monitoring and careful adjustments.
Comprehensive initial assessments that take the time to fully understand your history, your symptoms, and the life context behind them. The first visit is up to a full hour — not the standard fifteen minutes.
Trauma-informed individual therapy alongside medication management when it's the right fit. Grounded in evidence-based methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma-Focused CBT, and Motivational Interviewing.
Pre-surgical psychiatric evaluations and clearance documentation for patients pursuing bariatric procedures. Timely, thorough, and coordinated with your surgical team.
If you don't see your concern listed here, that doesn't mean I can't help — these are just the conditions I see most often. Reach out and we can talk about whether my practice is the right fit.

A comprehensive first appointment — up to a full hour — to understand your history, your symptoms, and what you're hoping to change. No rushing.
Together we create a treatment plan that fits your goals, your life, and your preferences. Evidence-based, never one-size-fits-all.
Regular follow-ups, careful monitoring, and adjustments as needed. You're never navigating treatment alone.
Because the appointment that actually fits your situation is the one that has time for your situation. Every patient gets the same standard of attention, regardless of insurance status or diagnostic complexity.
Most patients book through Headway, where insurance is verified and visit costs are confirmed before the first appointment. Private pay is welcome too — just reach out for current rates.
Headway verifies your specific plan and confirms your exact visit cost before booking, so there are no surprise bills. Currently in-network with Aetna, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, Carelon Behavioral Health, and Cigna across NY, NJ, and CT.
Check your insurance →Prefer to pay out-of-pocket and keep things off insurance? That option is open to you too. Send a quick note and I'll share current self-pay rates for evaluations and follow-up visits.
Contact for rates →For medication management and most psychiatric care, the evidence is strong: telehealth visits are as effective as in-person ones for the conditions I treat. What virtual care removes — commute, waiting rooms, scheduling friction — actually makes consistent follow-up easier, which is often what determines whether treatment works.
Yes, when clinically appropriate and after a thorough evaluation. Controlled substances are prescribed cautiously, with clear treatment plans, ongoing monitoring, and adherence to current federal telehealth regulations. We'll discuss whether they're the right fit for your situation at your first visit.

That's often the ideal setup. Medication and therapy work best together for many conditions. With your permission, I'm happy to coordinate with your therapist so we're working from the same picture of your care.
Honestly, it depends — on the condition, the medication, and how your body responds. Many people notice meaningful changes within four to six weeks of starting or adjusting a treatment plan, but psychiatric care is rarely linear. The right answer for you comes from steady follow-up and careful adjustments, not from rushing the process.
Established patients can reach me through the Headway portal between visits for non-urgent questions, and I respond within one business day. For mental health emergencies, please call 988 (the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline) or go to your nearest emergency room — virtual care isn't the right setting for acute crisis.
Currently accepting new patients for virtual visits across New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut.
